Hello All, I've been having a lot of fun with my Buffalo Classic, and getting surprisingly good accuracy with Lee 500 grain and 405 HB grain projectiles with 14 and 15 grains of Blue Dot. These loads are clean burning, and I've yet to experience any leading with air cooled or water dropped straight wheel weight alloy. I want to get an accessory barrel, so I can start my boys shooting and reloading a centerfire. A 357 mag should prove ideal and interesting, given the wide range of handloading options available, and be very tolerable regarding recoil. Some words of wisdom concerning NEF's 357 magnum barrels would be appreciated. I'd be happy to hear about any particularly "sweet" loads which do well in the NEF accessory barrel. I'll be staying with open sights on the 357 barrel. Thanks, Albatross.

FWIW... I placed an order (shipped them the Handi-Rifle action) with NEF for a .357 Mag. barrel on May 7, 2007. Was informed on July 15 that .357 Mag. barrels are still not available and are not expected for at least another 6 or 8 weeks. If you DO order one at least you should'nt have to wait as long as I have.

They're shut down for summer vacation until July 30th, but they'll have 357mag barrels again as Jon said. I'd go over the GBO if you want 357mag Handi loads, there are a several recent threads on that topic. Most 357mag chambers are big enough to shoot 360 Dan Wesson in them, many hand ream them to 357Max too. http://www.go2gbo.com/forums/index.php/board,126.0.html

I made a 357 mag adapter for my 45/70 handi rifle. When the bullet cleared the adapter, but was still in the 45 cal barrel, it splattered a little lead with each shot on the walls. Cleaning the lead out of the 45/70 without scratching the bore seemed like it took for ever
