Yesterday I bought an 1885 low wall (miroku) in .17HMR. This used rifle was supposedly built around 2003. Thanks to Calif. asinine waiting period I won't actually get it for ten days. Anyone know where I can get an exploded drawing, or at least a parts list? Also, what the heck is the trunicated cylinder that projects out the top of the action just toward the butt from the hammer? My only guess so far is an empty shell deflector of some kind. I sure hope it shoots as good as it looks. With a color case rifle butt plate and color case reciever, plus an octagon barrel its gun porn for sure.

it's a spent shell deflector - can be turned to deflect right left or center. both mine & my sons both shoot very well

BTW, for some damn reason, Browning's rifles are 1:16" twist, everyone else is using 1:14", my Custom low wall came in 1:12", which is the perfect twist for modern bullets.

Mete, thank you so much for the link, that helps greatly. Now if I could just get my rifle, seems the smith I bought it through is hospitalized for heart surgury, which of course has his one man shop closed. I would be praying for his recovery anyway as he's a nice fellow, but my low wall sitting out of reach does add a bit of motivation.
