Got a look at one of the CZ effect rifles here in portland. I was prety impressed with it. It had a cool side mount set up , witch was fitted with a Burris FFII 3X9. It was a 30,06. Tiny little thing , I don,t know that it would be much fun to shoot in that caliber as it weighs nothing. The price with the mount and scope was 1500. The store that had it is noted for extreemly high prices. I would guess one bare would be 3 to $500 less. It did have the Kansas city CZ USA mark on it so I am sure it's the real thing. I would want mine in a lighter kicking round mabye a 6.5X55 or a .243 to 7X57. I,m not a recoil wuss at all but this thing is light. while it is a prety cool rig I don't think I would run out and spend even a grand on one. But I might if i needed a rifle to carry a long distance and shoot very little. ...tj3006 ...tj3006 freedom1st

Good report. Thanks. I'd like to see how they fashioned the scope mount. I'm like you, I would prefer a milder caliber than the '06 in such a light package. I presume, being from CZ, the fit and finish were acceptable?

I looked it over prety well, the fit and finish were not outstanding. Remember this one was 1500.00 with a 200.00 dollar scope and a probably a 100 dollar mount. and at the most expensive shop in town. I could not see me spending more than about 800.00 on one, but who knows the next one I see might be better. ...tj3006 freedom1st

Without a different caliber selection, I would have little interest in one, at this time.
