I know one guy who has one of these in .577NE. He is an ER doctor in Idaho, and he took the rifle to OZ to shoot large varmints.

His comments was "it didn't hurt; it just kind of sloshes your brain around in your skull for a while."

Does that sound like enough gun for you? [Big Grin]

Any idea of the cost of the conversion?
Or is it better/cheaper to do a conversion on the CZ-550?

I've been wanting a .577 for awhile...

You might want to do a search on the big bore forum, it has been discussed several times in the past. As I recall the jist of the threads are that the #1 action can only take loads up to 1850 fps.

Glock20Rocks,

Check with SSK, but considering what's involved, I'd guess you're looking at $1000 or so for the #1 conversion.

As for a rimmed cartridge in a bolt-action, why?
Why not look at the .585 Nyati instead?

The cz550 bolt is too small to handle a 577 NE rim.
