After having been intrigued by the TC Encore concept for some time I have recently aquired an Encore frame. From all that I can read it appears that this barrel/frame system is not particularly suited to be used with belted magnum cartridges. I have read of extraction problems and the absence of lock-up integrity when the action is closed on a loaded barrel. Are such things to be really considered with an Encore? Obviously, there are some who are using belted cartridges for this system based upon the observation that TC keeps bringing out new barrel chamberings in belted cases. For those of you who have used belted cased chamberings in your Encores, what are your observations? Thanks.

I have a .350 Rem Mag barrel and a friend had a .300 Wun Mag barrel and I have seen nothing in the way of the problems you mentioned. Sean

i was shooting a 300 win mag for awhile till i sold to a friend. but what ive found was 2 thing. first when loading the cartraige into the barrel the extractore can catch on the belt so if in a hurry for a second shot can cause a problem. and second is only get 3-4 loads per case,i guess this can be a problem with bolt guns to but with barrel to frame gap and potential barrel to frame flex i think this can cause a problem too. ive tried every to help but nothing did. hope this helps jason
