The thread specs. are 1"x16tpi. The max diameter on the back end is 1.200". How big a barrel do you want to use?

John, Thanks for the thread specs. I was wanting to put a 1.250" barrel on it, it tapers to 1" at the muzzle, it is 27" long. It would be a target gun only. Wayne [ 01-07-2003, 06:08: Message edited by: Wayne McD ]

Wayne, you'll probably have to do some modification to the forearm hanger to get that heavy of a barrel on. It will have to be ground away to give the barrel clearance.

John, I thought that something like that would have to be done, just wasn't sure. I probably won't install that barrel. Thanks for your help. Are you the owner of Carolina Precision? I called them about a rechamber job for this same rifle about 2yrs. ago. Very helpful, said that rechambering from a standard cartridge to a magnum wasn't real easy, something to do with getting everything lined up right when they put the barrel back on. Thanks again for your help and time. Wayne

John, what's you answer to the #1's trigger? I'm wanting to get into another and prob rebarrel to a 22 Cheetah of 22-250 IMP. I really want less that #2 trigger. Can you e-mail any info on your services? sgtsnow@hotmail.com

Snow - we routinely get the factory triggers to about 2-1/2 lbs., clean and crisp, but it is a lot of work and you really have to know what you are doing. For a long range varmint rifle, such as the Cheetah, the Kepplinger is hard to beat. Unset it is about 2-1/4 to 2-1/2. Set it is about 4-6 ounces.
