Moderators, if this should be in a different area please move it

The Ruger No. 1 Schuetzen rifle I was selling was stolen while in care of UPS and if anyone comes across it I (and the buyer) would appreciate a "heads up." It has been entered NCIC as stolen firearm by the local PD, Swatara Township in PA. It is a blued Ruger No.1 with a heavy Douglas barrel in .32-40. It has a front sight base, is drilled and tapped for scope blocks and has Weaver adaptors on the Ruger bases. The forearm has a mount for a palm rest and this is the older model with the red recoil pad. The serial number is 130-21243. It was last seen with a set of rings mounted on the Weaver bases and packed in a light brown / tan hard case with broken clasps. Also in the case was the palm rest, a breech seater and a bullet mould. I will add some photos to this thread tomorrow.

It was last known to be at the Harrisburg, PA UPS center, if you come across it please notify me and the Swatara Township Police who have reported it stolen. Their number is 717-558-6900.

Thank you very much for reading this, I can be reached by IM on this site.

Here are the photos

The buttplate was not stolen but the breech seater, palm rest and a bullet mould not pictured were.
Thanks for keeping an eye out!

You might want to call the UPS head office in Atlanta. When you get their "Queue" message, press "0" to get their internal phone operator. then ask for the "Chairman of the Board's" office. When you get his secretary, ask for him.

She will probably not let you speak to him, if he is even there when you call, but she will give you his name on request so you can "send a letter to him". I suggest mentioning that you need his name to send him a letter (in case you decide later to do a search for his home phone).

His, secretary, however IS a nice lady, and as it is her job to intercept trouble when she can, you might find it handy somewhere in the conversation to let her know that if they can't find your rifle, you are considering having your attorney pursue options with both BATF and the federal regulators who oversee public carriers. That got her really fired up when they lost my most recent one.

Anyway, mine disappeared at a UPS depot also, and UPS did sweet-tweet about finding it until I pursued the avenue mentioned above.

I don't know who the Chairman's secretary contacted within the company, but within two days UPS had found my gun and missing parts, all except for a Jewell trigger, which they promptly paid me for. In the meantime, they were calling ME and giving me search progress reports. And guess where they found it (supposedly)? At the very UPS depot where it had last been reported arriving, and which earlier had claimed it never saw the gun.

May not work for you, but probably worth a phone call to try.

Please excuse my typos. I'm not a clerk typist.
