I picked up one of these last fall - it was not cheap - but haven't got around to shooting it yet. I see lots of references to these but no one else seems to have one. I guess few would know they even existed except for DeHass' book. The history is certainly interesting- the Boer's must have shot quite a few Brits with them. Anybody else have any experience with the Guedes single shot rifle and have any information or advice to pass on?

No experience, but I surely do envy you. I've wanted one for years. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Yep! I have one which is carved a bit ala boer handiwork! Very scarce rifle. Ron Besters book is very informative re: this and most boer war guns. It is only one of many guns of the African Pioneers which I have been lucky enough to procure. All the way from flintlocks through early 20 th century stuff. Real African using guns, and I just love them! Cheers, Luke
