Ordered 5/7/07...4 mos. to supply a barrel? Yeah, I know they "close" for the Summer but even that's pretty strange.
On the positive side the barrel looks good. It's 22" long and the contour is heavy. It's supplied with very nice Williams sights instead of the usual plastic ones. There was copper fouling in the bore from factory test firing but it now looks nice and shinney after cleaning. A little "carding" with fine steel wool and some oil smoothed up the rather course blueing nicely and I LOVE the way the extractor works. I know some like the ejectors but I reload, don't like FL sizing, and am sick of driving out cases with a cleaning rod. My Handi-Rifle (plastic) stock needs more "drop" to fit me correctly for iron sight use and the forend fits the new bull barrel too tightly but this can be fixed. Look forward to doing some shooting in a couple of days.
Congrats Jon!! They've been out of 357 barrels since spring time, they just got them in a few weeks ago, that's why it took so long. They're almost out of em again, but I got mine coming along with a 44mag barrel and a TDC stock set.

Topper Deluxe Classic, same stock that comes on the shotgun, yes it has more drop, but still works with a scope for me. Here's one on my 405 Winchester Target.

Thank you for the picture. Looks like a lot more drop than my plastic stock and correct for a shotgun or rifle with iron sights. I'll order one tomorrow. Thanks again for the help.
