I have a line on a Gibbs Farquharson that was rebarreled with a 20 guage barrel. What would the action be worth. I saw the gun years ago but don’t remember details. My vague memory is the action and stock were in decent shape. If I bought it it would be a project gun so I’m mostly interested in the value of the action. The owner is a friend so I don’t want to low ball him but what would be the range of values for the action?

I would think 3-4K, the action is really only suitable to build into a target rifle. If you want to build a sporter, better actions exist.

If it is indeed the Gibbs in question, it is far too nice to turn into anything other than correctly rebarreling back to a target rifle.
Thought that one was a 16ga. though.
