Long story short: Williams' makes a rear aperture sight for that particular model. It replaces the existing rear sight in about 60 seconds, and extends your useable range out to at least 400 yards. You can get it with either screw-type adjustments (bad idea) or target knobs (good idea). I have two buff classics with this sight, and love'em.

What height front sight is best with the williams rear sight? -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!

I agree with jwm. That is the set up I have on mine. Absolutely use the target knobs! I used the stock front globe sight that came with the rifle. I also shoot mine with 405 gr. lead and just above the factory load in velocity. It has worked fine that way for me.

I have the Wiliams FP-TK on my 45-120 Buffalo Classic, I use the short Lyman .404" 17A front sight, with 405gr Rems at 1500fps POI is 1½" high at 100yds, at full staff it's good for about 600yds with the Lee 500R bullet at 1500fps. The standard factory sight is supposed to be the Lyman .494", but H&R puts the .584" sight on them too often which won't even give you a 100yd zero with the factory WGRS sight. I've also added the elevation gib lock knob to make sight adjustments tooless. My favorite front sight insert is the thin post from the Lee Shaver special inserts. http://www.lymanproducts.com/l...ights/series-17a.php http://www.brownells.com/gunsm...079-27362-50427.aspx http://www.buffaloarms.com/Det...ROD=156893&MANF=1016
