Is it possible to put a Ruger #1 in a stock designed for a repeating rifle?

My thought was, if the action would fit inside, you could use a syntetic stock like a Mcmillan.

Would it be a lot of work?

Nortman, if you are just looking to put a #1 in a synthetic stock, MPI already makes one specifically for the #1. This would be a lot easier than trying to cobble one into a repeating rifle stock.

Look here.

Sorry bout the last post, the mouse did it.

I think what Nortman was asking was there a stock that you
could put a # 1 "into" so that it would be like a repeating
rifle, like he said, he would like the the action to fit inside
the stock. I would say no, at least I've never seen one.

I've never seen one either, but it has crossed my mind. It would solve the problems with the forend hanger. My thought is it would probably be butt ugly.

OhioSam,
I agree, it would be butt ugly but I don't see how it would
solve the hanger problem, in fact I don't think the hanger is
a problem, at least I don't think I've never had a problem with
it. I think it's kind of neat being able to adjust the forend
tension pressure by tightening a screw, there's not many guns
you can do that to. I use it as a benefit to getting a gun to
shoot better, not a determent.

This was done with many Lee Enfields. They actually came out looking pretty good. I don't think it would be that difficult, but I agree that you would still have to have the stock attached to the forearm hanger...probably still having the same type of problems you now have.
