I know some of you guys don't care for contenders and encores these days due to all the paid gun whores endorsing them. However, this little jewel came about long before the current situation. What is that song "I was country when country wasn't cool. Well this little dude was whackin and stackin a long time ago. I think I put this together around 1996. It is a bulberry stocked contender chambered in 17 Mach IV. It has a 22.5" bull barrel and an old Simmons ATV 4.5 x 14 AO scope. Trigger breaks like glass at 1 lb. A ball to carry and shoot. Load a 20 grain v-max at 3900 fps plus and shoot a crow at two hundred yards or less and it looks like a pillow that has exploded in a pillow fight only black feathers flying. Talk about red mist. Pop an ol' fox squirrel in the head and you can watch the hit through the scope. For years before 9/11 I used to keep it in my truck and when driving around the beltway. I would stop on the side of the road and get out an nail crows, coyotes etc. What a hoot, but I'm younger than that now GWB

That is definitely a sweet rig -- and one you can shoot all day without wearing out your shoulder. I really like your setup with the hide and the ringtail as well... Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri
