Leupold QR bases for Ruger #1-H

I have a new #1 in 458 Lott, I like the rifle and enjoy shooting it-although most of my loads would be classed as heavy 45-70 loads. I intend to do a few things to it in the next few months, one of them being a different rear sight, probably an island with one fixed blade. However, I want to do away with the rib and install Leupold QR mounts. I have used these before on a Winchester model 70 458 and I like this system and never had any issues. My problem is that Leupold doesn't appear to make these for the #1, or at least I haven't found them listed either on their site or any of the usual sources. I am beginning to think that my only option is to buy a set of Leupold's gunmakers bases and find someone to fit them for me. However, during my searches for information I think I did see someone make a fleeting reference to having these on a #1. So, my question is whether anyone knows if Leupold does have bases that will fit, and if so I would sure appreciate the information. I think that I can't be the only one to ever want to do this, but I suppose it is possible. I realize that drilling new holes may well be required, but that doesn't bother me. If I can't find a factory set that will work I'll post on the gunsmith forum and see if I can find someone who can do this. Thanks in advance, Terry.

tatwell, If you want to remove the quarter rib you can have a gunsmith fit whatever base ring combination you want to the bare barrel. If you leave the rib in place there are quick detach rings that will fit the milled slots in the rib. Check Brownell's website for them. chuckT.
