Can a new model H&R ultra rifle safely be rechambered to a magnum caliber? Was thinking about possibly buying one in 25/06 for a rechamber to 257 weatherby. Can the action handle the increased pressure? Thanks.

The H&R/NEF guns are chambered in calibers like 308, 30-06, 280, etc.... These all operate at similar pressures to the magnums. I guess that breech thrust would be the major concern with these guns. The larger the case head the less pressure they can withstand.
