Everyone who's posted on the net or read various forums already knows gb is a A-hole. This is a given. I do understand the frustration of some of you guys, but hey-- A-holes flock together just like birds. Let'm be. I mean a dead horse can only be so dead... right?? Been there and done that....

Now-- how about those H&R's? I hear they shooten around a corner if your lucky??

Of course I'm having some fun. I have tuned a Buffalo Classic to shoot. Tell me of your rifle tuning's that worked out.

I got the Sharps bug about 4 years ago and while I would like an original they just don't exist down under.

Well I finally selected a Pedersoli Sharps 'Silhouette' in 40/65Win. I got the usual advice from the; know everything' crowd, Pedersoil's don't shoot, the finish is crap, their barrels are rubbish, the 40/65 is a bitch to form and load for!

I finally got the rifle to shoot reasonable, 2" groups at 100yards, actually better at 200yards about 3". I read as much as I could in every book on the subject of BPCR. I made mistakes and corrected them.

Today, this rifle will outshoot a lot of scope sighted bolt action hunting rifles. I load 63gn Swiss 1.5 through a 24" drop tube, card wad, compress 0.040" with an adjustable seating tool, seat a Lyman 410678 just into the case to give an O/A length of 3.2"

Does it shoot? Two weeks ago I benched a 10 shot group at 100yards of just 1.22", and within that group was a 7 shot ragged hole that went 0.554". This is with black powder, lead projectile, aperature sights and 50+ eyes.

Next project, tune my new Pedersoli Long Range 50/70.

Hi, Good to see some chatter on my new favorite things -- mainly Buffalo Classic H&R's, and that whole bunch of "repro" boomers. I've been playing with some reduced loads in 45-70, but haven't had the weather yet to check out accuracy. I've shot 'em just enough to know that the recoil is very tame-able. Looking forward to better weather and swapping info with all of you.
