Why does T/C not make a .300 RUM barrel? I want one 28-30" in this caliber. Does anyone make one?

the reason is that the encore isnt strong enuff to hold up to it becase of it being a break open.it is the same reason they dont make them in the shortmag either. 300 win mag is what the encore is rated for. i think midway sales 338rum from virgin valley. maybe some else can explain why the 338 is available i think its all a pressure thing and a head diamiter thing. hope this helps a little. jason

I know the original post was about Non-Belted calibers, but I believe bigbore is incorrect about the Encore only being rated for the .300 Win as they make a .375 H&H

Here is the website address of available calibers:

Virgin Valley I believe will make the barrel you want. I know EA brown says they won't do the WSMs due to increased breach pressure (maybe not the right term it's late) of the increased head dia. Sean

VVCG does offer the 300 Rem SA Ultra Mag in addition to the 300 WSM (Winchester Short Mag)

I don't want the SHORT ACTION Ultra mag, I want the big bad original LONG Ultra Mag. If this gun can handle the larger bore sizes, with heavier bullets at the same pressure from the same case, will someone please explain to me why I can not have a barrel in the .30 caliber version ????

The breech diameter of an Encore is 1.000 inches; doesn't leave much steel around a case head measuring over .500 inches, does it?
