Problem with a weatherby vanguard

I bought a weatherby vanguard in 300wsm and when the last shell comes out of the magazine it jumps (pops up) over the bolt as I push the bolt forward. I would like to try to resolve this myself but haven't had any luck yet so any known fixes or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Scott

How's providing you clues going to help if you are wanting to resolve this yourself? Big Grin Okay, just kidding!

That is usually an indication there is a problem with the follower. Is the gun new? Did you have it apart? First thing is to make sure the mag box and follower are sitting in the correct position. Open the floor plate and look it over. Make sure the box isn't cocked to one side or somehow sprung out of shape. Remove it and then re-install it.

PULL THE FIRING PIN and load 1 round in the magazine. This is the last round. Look to see how it sits in the magazine. It should be tucked neatly beneath the feed rail and held snug against the wall of the mag box.

Push that round down, out of the way as you close the bolt over it. Now cycle the bolt rearward and look to see how that round reacts. It shoud still be pressed up tight against the wall and tucked under the rail.

Slowly push the bolt forward and look to see what the round does. Watch the follower as you advance the bolt. The round should be well up the ramp before it emerges from the feed rail. What is it doing?
