| I know there have been some Palma shooters using 30" 14 twist barrels with 155's out to 1000yds with good success. It might work with 175's but it would depend on the length of the bullet.
How long is the barrel and what is the profile? |

| The barrel dimensions are (approx) 28.25 long .650 at muzzle, straight taper for 22.5 .785 at this point. Breech dia 1.2 for 3.5. The bullet makers I have spoken with say 150 gr bullet depending on velocity. I have a 30-06 and a 300 win mag reamer and was thinking about building one of these. |

If you do any kind of varmint shooting, you could build a 300 WM and shoot the 110 V-max or the 125 gr. Nosler BT real fast. Thats what I did, although I used a 1 in 12. Not much left to take pictures of though....... Jim
Please be an ethical PD hunter, always practice shoot and release!!

| Back in the late 1950s I had a 1-14 barrel of about those dimensions, in '06, screwed into an M70, and I did quite well with it in club matches out to 1000 yards, mostly with 150 grain M2 military ammo but also with some prewar 172 grain boattails. Never polluted barrel with handloads. |
