I was in my local gunshop and spied a commercial Mauser rifle. Looked like a clone of a FN mauser or Mark X mauser, at least it had the FN bolt shroud. I'm no expert but the action seemed pretty smooth. The only ID was a marking on the barrel that said "National Arms Co. Model 60 DeLuxe" Anybody have any idea what this is? Was it made in belgian, spain, yugoslavia or china? I wondered if it was constructed out of spare parts i.e. when Yugoslavia self destructed maybe some entrepeneuer bought up the spare parts and built the rifle in Brazil. Anyone have any ideas? If I thought the metal was decent/hard enough, I'd buy it and slap a 9.3 barrel on it.

I have a National Arms rifle, doesn't say model 60 though. Mine was made with an FN Supreme action. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

I agree that it looks just like a FN Supreme action which I think makes it Belgian made. How do know for sure yours is a FN Supreme?

Action is stamped made in Belgium and marked FN with a date on bottom of receiver, bolt handle should be stamped PV with a standing lion where it meets the bolt body, will have a sliding trigger safety on right side, no wing on bolt shroud like the Deluxe or military Mausers. National Arms rifles are worth about $250-$350. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.
