hivelosity222 rem twist
Finally going to get my sako 222 rebarrled.
Iam going with a douglas SS.
what twist do you think I should get.
Iam not sure what the original barrel has for twist but I think it is 1:14?
I mostly shoot 40g bullets up to 55gr
The rifling is so faint that i cant get aood read.
Dave
Almost all .222s are 1:14. I personally see little reason to change, given the comparatively small case. IMHO, a .222 is at its best with a 50-53 grs bullet - for which the 1:14 twist rate is just perfect.

308SakoI'd be sorely tempted to try a 1 in 9, not for heavier bullets, but for the extra destructive aspect of the spin factor.
