These actions/rifles have been imported by Interarms, Charles Daly, Remington, and now Midway is online to have the (at least) actions. Someone should have parts for them and specifically I'm referring to bottom metal. Where can one get replacement bottom metal for these actions?....hopefully with release in the trigger bow. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." A question on the Zastava's for anyone who has worked on them. Myself and a mate are building a 270 Weatherby on one, it was bought as a supposed "magnum" action (bolt face etc already opened up). It seems though that the feed rails have not as it will not feed a magnum case at all, feeds 30-06 fine. Follower also seems for '06. It has push button floor plate release. Anyone know if this is a common thing with them? Maybe it has been a odd six action that has just had the bolt face opened up and sold . Paz P.S. sorry for the thread hijack Vapodog. 458AR & 500AR owner (yes it is done ) 12GFH in the pipeline(but not a real one, just a "mini one"!! Paz I've had an 06 and 7mag action laying next to each other on the bench and just from looking I couldn't tell any difference. Vapodog as to a zastava made bottom the only ones I know to have had the release in the bow was the early MKX. The later MKX and everything after have the cross pin. There are a couple after market with the release in the bow but I was never happy with them. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Yes, this is fairly common. Not proper but common.

I've seen quite a few take offs listed on Ebay. Gunbroker would probably have some listed as well. It would also reason that bottom metal from any large ring mauser would work with some modification.

If that e-Bay one is a genuine MarkX, I'd buy it in preference to the Numrich model. I say that because I bought the Numrich and, although it was all steel, it was pretty "cheesy". It was awfully soft and had a lot of "gaposes" around the hinge. "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? It is the whole people. The one on ebay is not an original. It's not worth buying. It's been a mystery to me why someone can't put out a product like you found on the early Mark X's for say in the $150 range.

Here is a photo to show the differences in the various actions from the underside where the rails are. The second from the left is a true magnum action. It will take .375 H and H cartridges. The third from the left and the fourth from the left are magnum actions that will take .338 win mag and 7 mm rem mag. the fifth from the left is a regular action that is for 30-06 cartridges. If you compare you can see that the rails in the front are more pronounced on the 30-06 based action, and of course, there isn't as much metal removed from the bottom of the action.
