I have a stock that needs to have a scratch removed and refinished. I know it has several coats of paste wax on it. In the past I've use a commercial wax/polish remover I just picked up at the store. Worked ok. Just wondered what you guys used. It is an oil finish with a scratch on one side of the butt. I'm getting lazy and hoped to only repair the one side. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Mineral spirits is a very effective solvent and remover of wax. It will not affect the underlying finish. Use several fresh washes to make sure you get it all.
