I have looked through the archives, called Brown Precision (the action they list is the old, tang safety version), etc....now on to those who really do know (I hope). Does anyone have the action weight for the new Ruger bolt action (the one used for the .375 Ruger)? As in, lighter than the old ruger action, lighter than the G33/40, etc? Hope someone has had theirs out of the stock or something to that effect! Thank you in advance for your help, Arthur

I dont think the new actions are any different to the MkII's. Layne Simpson in his book lists the MkII (long action which I assume is the 30/06 action) as 40.8oz. That's complete ... receiver, bolt, trigger, floorplate and its assembly. Pretty sure 40oz has been posted before for the weight of a Ruger MK11 action, what makes you think the action used for the 375Ruger would be significantly different?
Cheers...

Other than the trigger and different stock the 375 Hawkeye looked to me to be the same action as the normal M77 MKII. I didn't have one out of the stock. I show the weight of the MKII as 40oz+/-

As usual just my $.02

I believe the question actually asked for the weight of the 77 MkII compared to the 77 Tang safety...as posted on Browns website. Weight of a 375 Ruger was the bonus question.

So 40.8 oz for 77 MKII long action compared to 40.5 oz for the 77 Tang Safety long action. Seems to be the lightest CRF next to the Kimber short action.

Not certain what my Hawkeye African 375 weighs but it is the most well balanced and liveliest
375 I have ever hoisted...I am in love...LUV
This is what Ruger should have made years ago..
not the Express Rifle...and they would flat axx
dominate the the market...
