After searching this web site I can't seem to find an answer to a couple of questions:

I bought a Ballard #2 in 32 Long at an auction.
The rifle is not in great shape overall but a fun project for me non the less.

I have a couple of options:
I can try to swage 32 S&W long cases down to 32 Long (colt?) .... This will require that the base of the case be about .017 smaller...
... or...
Have a smith Cut a new chamber to 32 S&W Long...

Any suggestions.....
TIA

That's a lot to swage. If not a collectors piece rechambering for the S&W Long also allows use of the S&W (Short) and the 32 S&W ammo of both lengths is far easier to obtain.
