Does anyone know if it is easier to make cartridges with very rebated rims like the .425 Westley Richards feed reliably using controlled round feed or push feed actions? Does it make a difference? I know the original .425 WR used multiple little clips to raise the round in to position and that push feed actions are almost always frowned upon for use in dangerous game rifles but this is more of just a reference question then anything else. Thanks in advance for your time.

Rebated rims can be challenging! the idea is to allow the cartridge to rise far enough for the bolt face to have a good area to "push". Remember that the cartridge will tend to tip up, therby diminishing the "push" area....a balanced act! I can't see where push feed has advantage over controlled round. Take lotsa of time with this! I do a fair amount of 500 Jeffery work and am not satisfied until the rounds will feed in ANY position..even upside down....and eject!
