Rebarreling a pre 64 Mod 70

I note several take off pre 64 model 70 barrels for sale on various sites and my present barrel seems to be getting tired. Is a re-barrel common on the mod 70 considering that the site boss would have to be top dead center? Also, any reccomendations for a smith who has experience with this type of work.

Thanks in advance for any info.

99.5 will go on just fine, 98% will headspace. The older ones are a better chance, 1952 and earlier barrels and receivers.

I have changed a number of them and the previous poster is correct. It is a simple job if you have the correct equipment, Send me an email if you are interested.
