Has anyone ever dovetailed a rear sight into a Ruger SP101? Recently put an XS fron sight in, but I think I need a peep rear or maybe a U-notch. Making the sight isn't an issue, just more concerned about weakening the area just behind the top strap.

I would make the cut at the very rear of the topstrap as Bowen does so the topstrap thickness/integrity is maintained.

Look at what the fellows from Heirloom Precision are doing with fixed sighted K frame Smiths. This would be easy to do to a SP101 as well.

You can view a lot of their work at www.louderthanwords.us
