I am trying to identify a 12 gauge rifled slug barrel that I can have fitted and installed to my solid frame 12 gauge receiver. My receiver accepts a 1.150-inch barrel breech. I can identify no after-market manufacturer of rifled barrel blanks. Hastings has not responded to my buying query. E. R. Shaw no longer makes them. I don't know how to go about asking whether manufacturers of bolt action rifled slug guns will make unthreaded barrels available for private sale. So I'm wondering about shotguns that have front locking breech bolt whose bolt locks into a barrel extension. How are 12 gauge pump shotgun rifled slug barrels breeches affixed? On Remington 870, for example, is its breech extension simply machined from the rifled barrel blank? Or is the breech extension screwed into the rifled barrel blank? Or is it brazed or silver soldered into barrel blank? If someone has a solution for obtaining a rifled barrel that I can have fitted to my Winchester Model 1897 solid frame, please let me know. It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don't say it. Sam Levinson

Numrich had some blanks. No firearms manufacturer is going to sell you any unfinished parts. I would find a barrel you like and make a sleeve to fit your frame. Threaded inside and out. Or soldered inside.
