I've bought a pre-64 M-70 to be used as the basis for a custom rifle. The stock and bbl will be replaced. Any idea of the value of both? Stock is from a .338, made in late 50s, solid red recoil pad, 95% or better. BBL is original, sights, from the 60s, also 95% or better, conservatively.

I would be interested in both if you decide to sell. Please e-mail at tpringle@prodigy.net

Thanks,
Terry

Go to ebay.com, look up "Winchester 70 pre64", Winchester M70 pre64", Winchester 70 pre 64" and Winchester M70 pre 64". You will get lots of barrels and stocks for sale, but you should check all four spelling variations. Ditto on gunbroker.com and auctionarms.com.
