Those days are coming rapidly to a close because of all the films shooting outside of the USA...and there are now more people in the business than you could imagine. When I started in the business there were about 250 stunt people in the whole country (mostly in LA and we all knew each other)...now there are about 6,000 scattered everywhere. It seems like anyone who has ever fallen off a bar stool or wrecked a car is now out there claiming to be a stunt man. That many people all seeking fewer and fewer jobs tends to drive the prices down allot. Rick | |||

Like in any business, surpluses in either goods or services results in lower costs. When have you 6,000 people competing for 500 jobs the employer has a distinct advantage in what they will offer to pay for those jobs. The movie business is also somewhat unique in that it is one of the few businesses where people will actually pay you just so they can work on a movie. Rick | |||
