gents:

i was just dubbing around with the shortened, now 23" factory barrel on my cz and in 375 it measures .700 at the muzzle. wiht the reshaped stock it handles much better.

looking at the 5130 walther pattern and noticed it is finished at 26" and comes out at .625 md.

with as trim a stock as possible and such a barrel could someone explain please how the handling characteristics might then be different.

thanks!

I am building a 375 with a trim stock and the LW 5130 right now.

I had the contour changed so that it was .600 at the muzzle(26"). My barrel is cut to 23" and is now about .640 at the muzzle. If I had it to do over I would haw asked Woody to turn it even smaller so that it would finish at .625 at 23".

With banded front sight and 2 leaf island rear sight my barrel weighs about 3 pounds even.

As far as handling characteristics, I hate to try to guess because I have not played with a CZ in 375.

The 5130 is the sexiest barrel profile ever.

I have a Rem 700 in 375, it's a factory 24", .650" at the muzzle. It's nicely balanced and handles very well.

I don't have photos of mine on hand. Here is a thread with some great photos.

I like the steps in the barrel so I used a island rear sight(yes I am a bit odd). Also on a 375 I did not want the integral lug that is on the banded sight. Most people would prefer the banded sight as shown in the photo in the other thread.
