I'm considering having a couple of gun slips made out of my elephant hide, and was wondering what you guys think is the best lining to use inside a gun slip. Leather, fabric of some sort, something else?

These slips should obviously be made to last a very long time, both inside and out.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Personally, I would look for an African pattern 100% wool blanket that would compliment the hide.

I have a couple Brain-Tanned Elk rifle covers lined with Pendleton Indian pattern blanket material which you can buy by the yard. It's a really tight weave and feels almost like plush felt.

WHERE can you buy this, my C.E.O. is one hell of a seamstress and can make all sorts of goodies since I bought her one of those fancy computerized sewing machines; this took precedence over certain rifle purchases. BUT, being a cunning lowlife gunaholic, it meant that she couldn't complain when I bought my second combination gun, after telling her..."one combo gun is all I will ever need"...heh, heh.

Anywho, I would like to buy some of this here wool blanketing, if you will kindly post a source, thanks.

Kutenay,

You dog, Wink

I bought my CEO a sewing machine and all I ever got was pot holders, and curtains.

Pig skin is nice also, and a soft deerskin or kangaro are class touches.
