Who is a trusted source to have regulate your express sights to a certain load for a 3-leaf on a bolt action, or would you attempt it yourself?

I would want to do my own sighting in.

Not everyone's aim is the same and there is no magic formula to pre-set the height of fixed sights for a particular load, so, I give my customer a choice, either they can cut and dial the sights themselves, or, they can pay me to accompany them to the range and do it for them while they sight the gun. Of course, if I am going to the range already and they wish to show up, I will help them free of charge.

Ditto Westpac, no-one looks through irons the same way and I wouldn't trust someone else to do it for me and expect to be hitting in the same place they are.

333_OKH, did you pose this question to Jim Dubell? What did he tell you?

Don't tell anyone, but the secret to regulating them is to pick up a second set of leaves. Use them for filing at the range. When you're done making adjustments, have the other set milled, grooved and blued to the same heights.

At about $89.00 for a 2 leaf NECG sight? Not too many people in these parts willing to throw away that kind of money needlessly. Nice idea though!

Granted it is certainly better to have the customer present but that is not always possible and some customers simply dont want to file the sights in.
