Looking for an AMT Hardballer 45acp rear sight

I am looking for a rear sight for an AMT hardballer. It's got a 5" barrel and it's 1985 vintage.

I have tried a millet replacement sight and it does not fit. The sight threads into the top of the slide via the elevation adjust screw and the front of the (rear) sight is pinned in a slot on the slide.

The millet replacement sight spacing between screw and pin is shorter than the factory sight.

Do you guys have any experience with this rig? A friend suggested that AMT may have done a design change to a Colt Goldcup sight or something similar.

Thanks for your help.

I was going to ask you if you'd tried one of the original-type sights from the earlier Colt Gold Cup. I used to have one I bought in 1964, and have a Hardballer now. The rear sights on these two appear identical to me. However, I have not compared the exact measurements to know for sure.....
