I need some help. I have one of my favorite knives that is in need of a new set of scales. I would like to use a piece of highly figured english or turkish walnut - not at all interested in black or claro for this knife. Does anyone have a suitable slap they are willing to sell?

I've got a chunk of bokote that might be large enough.
If SDH Doesn't have a piece that will work let me know

I guess this is stating the obvious, but I've given away quite a bit of English for knife slabs, etc and for it to look good, the wood has to have a VERY TIGHT figure or grain or both, otherwise when it is on a knife the only thing left is a blob of dark grain or figure. For instance, marbling won't really show up at all unless it is really, really tight. Quarter sawn will but won't have much "zap". Burl can work well, but isn't very strong until you back it with epoxy or whatever.
