Ultraman, if you're referring to Hart Barrels versus R.W Hart and Sons then yes, Hart Barrels does wonderful work installing their name barrel. For reference, Ironbrigade Armory (Rocky and Norm Chandler) use Hart Barrels to do all their action work for their tactical/sniper rifles.

Good Luck!

Hart Rifle Barrels does excellent work. I've had rifles built by them, both centerfire and rimfire, that have all shot extremely well. I just had two barrels delivered this week and have a rifle to them now for rebarreling with one of theirs. They just do excellent work! I can recommend them.

Several years back I had Hart rebarrel a Rem 700 in 6mm BR. It is probably my most accurate rifle, barrel clean-up has always been a breeze with very little fouling, and the fit and finish and overall quality exceeded my expectations. I wouldn't hesitate using them again.

Pac-Nor offers the same service for about $450, IIRC.

Looking to rebarrel one old favorite of mine. Harts price of $550 including stainless barrel, chambering and receiver work seems VeRY attractive compared to others or buying a barrel and having it done elsewhere. I would like to do this once however. Experiences appreciated on work quality and customer service. Thanks gentlemen

There are a couple of 'Harts' in the gunsmithing business. The barrel makers are located in LaFayette, NY. Hart barrels are highly regarded by most shooters. I had Hart rebarrel a Rem M788 to 7mmBR several years ago and was/am very pleased. I think you will be pleased with their barrel, work and service. Plateau Hunter

Over the years I've had 5 different rifles re-barreled by the good folks in LaFaytte. Never has there been any problem what so ever, and in each case I have been more than satisfied with both the work and the time frame. Get's to the point where I am actually hoping to burn a tube out just so I can have another one done! The caliber's I've had are 6 PPC, 6 Rem with a 1 in 8 twist, 257 AI 1 in 10, 6.5/284 a 1 in 9, and the cover rifle of there brochure of a few years back... a .308 Win, .340 neck on a Sako: Fancy That! All barrels shot extremely well, and cleaned up with ease.

It doesn't really matter which Hart you order from. They are all related to each other. The barrels are made in Lafayette, NY. I've had Wally Hart in Nescopeck, Pa. chamber three of their stainless steel varmint barrels for me, and all shoot great. Most of their work is for benchrest shooters, and they really know their stuff. Best wishes.
