jeffeosso"complete" rifle? you mean in military config?
i'll give you 175 each for them, if you can make money at it, as the barrel WILL be a crawfish hole.
make damn certain the bolts are mexicans, not turks (the turks will have a STAR on them) as there once was a large load of them that came in without bolts
if it's worked into a sporter, then its more in the 350-to god knows what range
you should expect to pay ANYWHERE from 125 to 300 for a mil, the later being with matching bolt number and a good barrel
GSP,
i WISH i could find them for 100... in todays market, you can pay 100 for just a 36 bolt, seriously. Not giving over a 100 means not getting... just like when springfields and 1917's where 100 each... or swedish mauser where 69 bucks, and "used" sks' went for 50

Marc_Stokeldif they are not too pitted below the wood line, they will be the $175+ Jeff mentions. Days of $100 1910's went out with the CLinton era.
Well we went up there they are in good shape considering. The guy told us about them but I was not really paying attention but Bill was so he might be able to add some to this. They would not let us tear them apart to check under the wood line. They are asking 199.00 for them.

Marc_Stokeldthat is a fair price if they are not too pitted and the bolts are good. If they look decent above the wood, they will likely be fine. Be sure to look at the bolt faces as well. A lot of Mexicans had pretty pitted bolt faces. Just about all of them have some pitting below the wood line, so these are likely no worse than anything else. if you ahve been looking for a MEx, I would get one that I could inspect in person as you describe.
I just re-read the original post and saw they are complete rifles. THese often go for $225+ if they are not pitted. I say get them
From what could see there was no pitting at all. The two we looked at were made in 1911 and made in Mexico. Yes these are still in there complete military configuration. All I can remember the guy saying about them was they were siezed by U.S Customs back in the 80's.

M1TankerI did look down the barrel of one and it was so full of some dried crusty preservative that I couldnt tell at all what the rifling was like. Couldnt even see it through all the goop in fact. They did seem to be in decent enough shape though and I am willing to bet that the $199 is highly negotiable.

CustomstoxMarc,
In the Clinton era, I was buying them from Century for $40. I wish I had bought a lot more than I did. Back then they were $39.95 for a barreled action. I found another source that had them for $38 in a stock. Oh, the good old days, lol. Now if I only had some good old common sense or foresight back then.
Bill,
Now tell the guys the best part of the trip on how you almost became a splatter on the side of the road. If he won't tell you I will weave the tale.

Marc_StokeldI was buying them for $120-$145 at the end of Willie's second term, and will liekley sell off the lot. I have 7 or 8 laying around and may sell them soon, as well as several 33/40's. But folks will cry that they are too high today and then in 5 years say they should have bought them all!
