Peep sight to mount on a Leupold QR base?

Hi,

I use QR mounts on all my rifles to increase their versatility... But for my Sako 9,3x62 I can not use a Zeiss 3-12x56 scope for moonlight hunting since I need to have the rear iron sights mounted for dog work in brushy terrain during snowy/rainy weather. No fog on iron sights Cool

But a peep sight to mount on the QR mounts would be just peeeeerfect. Mount it and shoot it.

Being a believer of free enterprise and capitalism per se, I trusted I would find plenty of dealers that would provide this simple soultion since the market need obviously exists (=me).

But apparently, the whole world has gone communist and I didn't even see it happen.

Or is there anyone who knows about anybody making such a little gadget?

Let me know.

Best Regards,
/HerrBerg

If you have cross slot QR bases, this might work-

Good Idea, maybe if I do some cutting in the QR bases... But, no, I haven't got cross slot bases on that gun. I believe the "ordinary" QR bases are the only ones Leupold manufacture for Sako...

here are two for 3/8's dovetails. since you mention doing some cutting, maybe a 3/8's dovetail could be cut on the rear of the base you have.

redfield flip up peep

buy one of these and take the peep off the back of the sight (then see how far you can throw it or sell it again on ebay Big Grin )
Drill and tap your rear sight and vola you have a flip up peep on your bases.

When you take this apart you will see how it goes togather. I have 5 of these set up on my rifles and cant belive that they stoped making them.
