With some chisels, a Dremel tool, and Acraglass Gel anything is possible. popcorn

I have a Win. Short action stock here if you'd like me to measure something.

I have looked at exactly what you want; problem is the tang area; the rest is ok. The Win tang is already hogged out too much, but if you milled out that area and glued in a piece, then insetted it for the Mauser tang it would work and not be too noticeable. You will have to make the bottom metal though. Way too wide for a Mauser box.
Better to get a used M70 and use the action for your build.

Has anyone done this with a model 70 short action stock? Fella on a departed forum showed a intermediate Mauser action he set into a LONG action Model 70 stock, but I didn't save any pictures.

Found these figures for hole spacing on actions.

Post-64 long = 7.575"
Post-64 short = 7.035"
Intermediate Mauser = 7.62"

Why not get something that fits in the first place.

Just get a large size Acraglas gel and a spray can of release. The regular AG stuff might run right through. Don't forget about the bolt handle cut.
Mauchester?
Winser!
