I have acquired a Model 70 in .416 Rem Mag and the hole in the barrel band for attaching a sling swivel is too small to accept Uncle Mike's swivels. Are there other swivels that were intended to be use or will fit? The stud is so small that I am not sure if it can be or should be drilled out to a larger size.

Everyone I know just drills them out, it won't hurt it and what else can you do? Had to be a quality control issue.
