I have two new Model 70s. One is a Blued LT and has the David Miller designed stock. The floorplate on this one is very thin and fits nicely into the stock. The other one is stainless and has the older design stock. The floorplate on it is about 3-4 times as thick, and sticks out below the wood on the stock and doesn't appear to fit as well. Is there a thinner version of the stainless floorplate out there? Are the one-piece replacement floorplates thinner? Thanks - Jeff

Ngrumba, Check this site, it may have what your looking for. I have not personally used their products, but they are suppliers to Winchester and have a good reputation. http://www.williams-firearms.com/ Good luck from a fellow lefty, Wayne E.

Ngrumba, The reason that the LT floorplate is thinner on the sides is due to the fact that it has a compound radius. The middle of the floorplate has a radius of 1.737", while the outside edge has a 1.00" radius. The radius that is on the triggerguard bow must match with the middle radius of the floorplate for the the width of the triggerguard, which is .700". After that point we put the 1.00" radius on there to quickly taper the sides down, leaving a more streamlined look. At this time we don't offer a stainless slim floorplate and hinge assembly, but we do offer a one-piece assembly floorplate that would fit your needs. All of our floorplates come with the compound radius contours. Thanks Big Dipper for the link. Word of mouth is always the best form of advertisement.
