I have struck a deal for a trade in firearms with another member on this board. The problem I have is shipping a firearm from Canada to the USA. I cannot find anyone to ship it. Postal service says not out of Canada and the same thing from any of the courier services. How does one go about shpping a firearm out of Canada. You would think with all the new laws governing the firearms in this country it would be easy to ship them out of here. How do any of you gunsmiths ship firearms to or from Canada? Please help. Importing firearms into the US is a PITA.

After several phone calls and finally talking to someone at Foreign Affairs they are sending me the forms (triplicate). Foreign Affairs says it is not a big problem, just fill out the forms and send it to a ffl dealer in the US. How�s this for crazy, the Canadian postal service will not ship the firearm out of the country but they will receive and deliver one from the US postal service. I have to ship it via Air Canada Cargo, which is a hassle all in itself. Oh well no one said it was going to be easy. Smokey PS I am going to document and time the whole process for future reference.

Similar Crap In Australia, I can not post a firearm any more, I have to take it to my gundealer and they have to do it. Same result acheived just in-conveniences my gun dealer. Howvere I can receive a gun in the post, go figure ignorant moronic politicians beuracrats with no noodle

It always makes me laugh when I was able to post rifles the post office workers would always ask "Is it loaded". I always wanted to answer "yes you f#@&* idiots so don't go dropping it, it may go off".
