Why not rechamber to 458 rcbs. I had mine done about a year ago and have been very happy with it.

I have a Kodiak Double rifle circa 1980? Wanted to know if it is possible to jack up the 45/70 loads and will the gun take the pressure?

As I remember there were two blade sights on the rifle? One for each barrel? Wonder if it could be rechambered for 450#2 as some of the Pedersoli doubles are?

As far as hotter loads go I'd be cautious.

Basically it's a 45-110 thats been proofed for smokeless powder. It will duplicate the 458 Win mag ballistics, but keep pressured low enough to use in a double rifle.

i believe it's also called a 45x2.85 case.. which is like .85 longer than a 45/70
