Rem 700 bolt release spring question?

Installed a Jewell trigger last night. The bolt release spring got away from me before I noticed how it was installed. When I reinstalled the spring, I hooked the short end behind the trigger assembly in the groove. The loop is pinned in and the long end rests under the lever that pivots in the action. Everything seems to work fine. Just not to sure if I hooked the short end in the correct place.

Need someone to look at the bottom of a 700 action and describe to me were the short end of spring attaches. Its the end that extends aft from the rear trigger retaining pin.

Sounds like you have it right. The short leg just hooks in behind the trigger housing. Regards, Bill

Thanks Bill,

I was beginning to wonder if anyone really owned a Rem 700.

I own 'em, but just hate to remove the stock and have to recheck zero just to answer a question. Sorry...
