Saw this on a nice old H&H sporter at the Beinfeld show in Las Vegas.
It would be nice if someone could build something like this today - it does not look to difficult

458WinIf you look at the top photo closely you can see that the base is contoured to fit the receiver and screwed on.

enfieldsparesOn my first glance it looks like it is the old REDFIELD flip up peep sight that was an option on Redfield 'scope bases machined down and then drilled and screwed to the rifle.
