I'm trying to learn about the H&H style QD bases.
Where the front base is on the side of the reciver.

I've been able to find a pic or two of them but not very good ones. Any one have nice pics?

Any information on them, who can make them?

I understand there pretty spendy.

Any info would be great.

Last time I was in Clayton Nelsons shop in Trinidad, Co he was building a VERY nice 98 and he had made H&H mounts for it. They really looked good. I would like to have a set but they are definitely pricey. His work is flawless in my estimation. Of course I'm biased as he built the only custom rifle I've ever comissioned and I attended Gunsmith school with him.

There are pics of similar mounts on the 450 Rigby pictured in Custom Rifle Gazette. I'd like to see some better pics too if anyone has any.

Golmatic makes them...have just ordered a set for my opcomming rifle.

Basicly you order the sidebase like this one and then order raw unfinished items to go with the sidebase so your gunmaker can get to sweat on the millingmachine for a day or two($$$$$$).
The rear bases are exacly as a normal "einhack"
I contacted H&H last spring to hear if they wanted to send me a set...but they didn`t wANTED
to...only if i brought them my rifle and then they would fit it for me for 3-4000£ animal
After asking around i found them at Golmatics
and my gunmaker agreed to fit them for only
12-1500$...WITH rustbluing dancing

Jens, what rings are you going to use with the
H&H type mounts and where do you get them?

I couldn't find ANY scope rings on Golmatics web site.

HI Allen!

My gunmaker has been out all week will be
back tomorrow monday.

But i believe a single "foot" shall be milled out of a raw iterm.
Golmatic has the special rings the goes on the frontpart of the scope(just isn`t shown).

But a detailed info will be given later this week once the gunmaker has returned.

I sincerely hope you are not going to butcher any Oberndorf’s by drilling holes in the action, such hideous crime……

Jens,Thanks for the info. Looking to more details.

I am working on two custom rifles (gathering parts at this point) and am very intersted in the H&H type mounts. I have not been able to find hardly any information on them.
On the web or AR board (old posts). So your info is really appereciated!

JOHAN, do you not care for the style or would just hate to see an Oberndorf chopped up.
But no, their not Oberndorf's I wish I could find a pair of Oberndorfs.
They most likely just be a pair of Persions.

The more I look at those H&H style mounts the more I like them. Put a square bridge on rear reciever, then with the clean round front ring, H&H style barrel, short 1/4 rib. I think that would be a beautfuly elegent set up.

I like èm too...the more I look at them...
They work opposit of "Einhacks"...you put the rear ringpart down first and then comes the front part.

Hey Johan!!!
Are you sure I can`t temp you with a Metford rifled barrel in trible 3(hahaha..it`ll cost you$$).

In the white they cost 414 Euro$...and thats is a complete system..

Order# MM2006 for 1" scopes
Order# MM2208 for 30mm scopes
If you order a catalog from them they are listed as "English sidemount".
Hope that helped?? Cool
