The point of blueprinting (a badly abused term) is to make the action as it was intended to be. That is, the surfaces that should be inline and concentric are made to be so and the surfaces that are meant to be perpendicular are made to be so. Each gunsmith has his own technique for achieving this but most are basically similar. Some smiths do the full treatment others only charge for it. Some talk a great job, some do it. Some do a great brochure, some do a great job. Some do both. The actual steps and methodolgy are really kind of beyond the understanding of most customers so amount to the blowing of smoke. Regards, Bill
For a good explanation on how a 'smith trues an action and fits a barrel go to www.benchrest.com and click on "gunsmiths" and then on Bryant Gunsmithing.
