Making a Double Rifle from Shotguns

I've personally handled a .470 Nitro double rifle that was made from a Browning shotgun. I've heard about getting a Greener double shotgun to make one. Now, how about a field grade LC Smith? If not, why so? And what are the particulars one looks for when selecting a shotgun for the Cinderella makeover? I would think a stout breech would be a start. However, I really don't have a clue. Thanks, Mike

There's a book out about this now, from Wolfe publishing I think. If you do a search on the big bore and African parts of this forum you'll find lot's of info, i believe. - Dan

I also read somewhere about a company making doubles based on the Ruger o/u - I'm sure someone else here saw it. I would think it could also be done on their sxs if wanted.
