Do any of you gentlemen know where I can find written or video instructions on the use of the MMC head? I have an older model, and I have never seen a write up of how it is intended to be used. I have struggled to figure out how best to use it. I tried it a couple of ways, and end up setting it for a shallow cut and pull it along the master line. It seems I have better control and cut a more uniform line pulling than pushing. I have laid out several panels this way, and it works OK for that, but I then go over each line with a jointer and point them with a single point tool. The layout goes pretty quickly, but I suspect those who know what they are doing use it for considerably more than just lay out work. Your help, tips, comments or thoughts will be appreciated.

I have put together a lot of info on stockmaking, checkering, engraving,a traveling reloader kit to make and making a stockduplicator which is on a USB 2 gb's drive. LOOK IN THE CLASSIFIED SECTION.

There is about one hour of checkering using the MMC tool. I retired a few years ago and have tried to help gunsmiths. My experience with the MMC tool goes back 43 years.

Thanks for the offer Mr Brooks, it looks like you will be busy for a while. I think there were almost twenty responses to your classified post by the time I saw this. I sent you a PM, a letter will be in the am mail. I look forward to receiving your information. Roger

Roger, it sounds like you have it figured out. Use your hand tools for cutting the master lines and outlines of the pattern. For the first set of spacing lines with MMC, work right to left, pulling the tool toward yourself. Forever after the first pass, always work left to right, or the spacing will get progressively wider. For highest quality finished appearance I always use hand tools to finish after most lines are full depth. Good luck.
